Responsibilities
- Responsible for forecasting the demand for products and/or services.
- Responsible for managing optimum stock levels so as to ensure stock is available for the customers at all times.
- Accountable for monitoring the supply planning of products and the inventory replenishment across the network.
- Provide data and analysis to support the categories Sales, Stock and make recommendations to ensure sales and profit performance is maximised.
- Consult with functional teams such as Commercial, Marketing, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain to obtain relevant data and insights on demand.
- Manage forecast models, analyse trends, manage forecast tools, and maintain accurate data.
- Prepare reports and statistics related to the demand planning and forecasting function.
- Participate as the demand owner/representative in an organization’s sales and operations planning process, to enable demand-supply balancing analysis.
- Develop and measure key performance indicators to track and evaluate forecasts made, to assist in assessing the effectiveness of the demand planning & forecasting function, and to work towards continuous improvement.
- Generate SKU level intake requirements as set by availability and stock turns targets that result in a weekly order placed on suppliers.
- Build close relationships with supplier counterparts to ensure a continuity of supply and to minimise failed deliveries through an effective management of progress chasing.
- Liaise regularly with both Supply Chain and Inventory Planning to set priorities, arrange stock/container movements, discuss bookings etc.
- Manage the weekly exceptions and variances of original sales and stock forecasts changing forecasts to generate revised requirements and amending allocation parameters as neede.
- Monitor and report on variances to overall stock levels, supplier delivery performance and distribution capacity.
- Identify overstocks/understocks and work with the Commercial Manager and Buyer where action is most needed, particularly for aged and clearance stock.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor degree in statistics / mathematics / logistics. A master degree is a plus
- 1-3 years relevant work experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Team player. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple partners across departments
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
