Interbeton Construction Materials S.A, subsidiary of Titan Cement S.A., is looking for a General Acounting Supervisor, based at the company’s Headquarters in Athens, Greece.
Responsibilities
Main duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supervises the activities of general accounting function for Interbeton Construction Materials S.A, subsidiary of Titan Cement S.A. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data. Ensures the maintenance of financial records in accordance with IFRS and the company’s policies.
- Reviews monthly journal entries, analyze and perform account reconciliations to accurately close monthly quarterly and annual fiscal periods
- Reviews monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet and P&L accounts including documentation to support all balances
- Ensures timeliness, accuracy and completeness of accounting records to meet specified deadlines
- Oversees the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts and adjustments
- Oversees intercompany reconciliations
- Prepares on monthly basis the P&L Statement per IFRS
- Supports the Accounting Manager in the preparation of Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements as well as the Notes to the Financial Statements per IFRS
- Participates in the design of standard accounting procedures based on IFRS and local GAAP frameworks, submitting proposals to the Accounting Manager.
- Coordinates and review work of general accounting staff
- Lead efforts for developing the skills and experience of staff
- Participates in on-going professional development activities to remain informed on changing IFRS and regulatory framework
Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
- 8-10 years of experience in an industrial ERP environment or 7-8 years in a (Big 4 preferably) public accounting firm
- Professional certification such as ACCA or CIMA
- Strong knowledge of taxation legislation and reporting systems
- Experience with SAP is required
- Strong understanding of IFRS is required
- Experience in the preparation of financial statements is necessary
- Proficient in developing people and leading teams required
- Ability to interact with other individuals at all levels of management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel
- Greek Native Speaker with Excellent knowledge of the English language
- Military Service fulfilled (if applicable)
