Optimal HR Group, on behalf of its client, an oil & gas producer, is looking to recruit a Group Senior Financial Accountant for our client’s HQ in Athens, Greece.
Responsibilities
- Review accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and direct correcting entries
- Conduct standard internal audits of various accounting records on a monthly and annual basis
- Prepare, maintain control for subsidiary accounting records involving a variety of transactions and accounts
- Monitoring actual expenditure against budgets, quarterly working plans, and management reports
- Handle tax issues (VAT, income TAX), ensuring alignment with the Greek Tax Code requirements
- Participate in the preparation of the company’s periodic financial statements (B/S, P/L, Cash Flow)
- Efficient cooperation with all related departments and timely acquisition and process of financial information
- Coordinate and implement the year end closing processes and procedures for the assigned accounting records; conducts year-end closing process
- Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations
- Preparation of the Company and Consolidated financial statements under IFRS
- Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures
Requirements
- University degree in Finance or Accounting
- ACCA qualified
- 5-7 years of working experience in accounting and tax field
- Advanced business writing and verbal communication skills in English
- Computer literate with very good knowledge of MS Office, especially EXCEL and SAP ERP program
- Good knowledge of accounting – IFRS and Greek GAAP
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organization and follow-up skills
- Analytical thinking and self-motivation
