Optimal HR Group, on behalf of its client – a leading Asset Management platform – is looking to recruit a Portfolio Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the operations (Loan & Legal) and for the execution of the strategic initiatives to achieve the investment business plans.

He will contribute to and support the development and execution of the company’s strategy for the expansion of the business in both of market share in SPL/NPL servicing but also new business lines.

Responsibilities

  • Overall oversight of asset management & reporting on portfolios under management
  • Manage platform and set up operating procedures to maximise value/return on the portfolios under management
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and shareholders’ policies and procedures
  • Build effective working relationships throughout the business.
  • Prepare and conduct monthly / quarterly meetings with multi-disciplinary teams and senior management
  • Risk assessment and management
  • Assume full responsibility for successful take down of new portfolios / business
  • Manage and coordinate on a daily basis the interaction of asset, legal and real estate managers, and the relationship with any other providers outside of the team
  • Ensure coherence and continuous update of information by all involved managers
  • Report internally the activity results and promote measures to improve efficiency
  • Identify any files with problems, namely enforcement of the debt, that may be subject to put-back conditions, and report on due time to Senior Management and to Investor
  • Submit in a supported manner and on a regular basis any loan business plan reviews to the required approval committees (internally or from the investor), ensuring that adequate previous “scrubbing” of the files is duly performed
  • Identify and propose engagement of any experts required for the proper assessment of the value of the assets and recovery actions
  • Ensure full alignment with portfolio manager in what regards the key aspects of the team activity, strategies, priorities, procedures and team size and composition
  • Provide technical guidance related to the recovery process to the team members or propose any measures (external advisors, opinions, etc) deem required in order to obtain the best results
  • Ensure correct and uniform procedures related to the operation of the team members, namely those that involve deadlines and have direct impact on efficient recovery of the portfolio (cash bids, payment of expenses, bank accounts, workflows, mailings, good practice in contacting borrowers, etc)

Requirements

  • Degree ideally in business, economics, finance, or engineering with proven mathematical skills
  • 4-6 years proven experience in a distressed asset investment business
  • Superior analytical skills, both academic and work experience, ability to use Excel to high level
  • Initiative and transparency / responsibility
  • Team management
  • Proven relationship management skills and ability to work in a team
  • Proven commercial skills including transaction pricing, structuring, and negotiation with track record of profitable investments
  • Proven post purchase asset management skills
  • Fluency in English and Greek (oral and written). Knowledge of Spanish is optional
