Large Retail organization is looking for a Senior Professional to fill an exciting and challenging role in BI and Analytics. We are looking for a Business Intelligence & Analytics Manager who can establish and execute our vision for the delivery of information and analysis to key stakeholders.
The position concerns a motivated Professional with proven management skills, who will be responsible for new projects for internal customers. He, or she, will be working in close collaboration with stakeholders from different company departments to understand their needs and suggest the best of solutions to them.
Responsibilities
- Drive the BI roadmap by prioritizing long-term and short-term initiatives around enterprise, self-service BI and analytics
- Demand management – will be responsible for handling project demands and at the same time define implementation timelines and communicate it back to internal stakeholders
- Project, delivery and change management – work with internal team and external vendors to deliver BI and analytics projects.
- Expected to be hands on in guiding end users and on-boarding them on new solutions
- Collaborate directly with leaders across the organization to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost effective business intelligence, data warehouse and reporting solutions
- Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes through simplification and automation
- Maintain a high level of engagement with the business analytics power users so as to preserve understanding of their evolving needs for information access
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Qualifications & Skills
Major requirements
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience designing and operating large BI/Analytics platforms with experience in leading related development teams
- Expertise in Oracle BI platform & data modeling, both logical and physical
- Degree at a post-graduate level in computer science, mathematics, operations, management, or a related field is required
- Strong Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence skills, including: identification of technology to solve various business problems and handling scalability issues for BI platform
- Preferably Greek language as native
Required technical skills
- A deep understanding of business intelligence and real-time analytics & a solid understanding of key BI trends
- Project management and consulting abilities
- Proven ability to manage complex vendor, supplier & sub-contractor relationships
- Experience in multidimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, deformalized models, handling “slow-changing” dimensions/attributes
- Experience with relational – SQL – and multidimensional – MDX – query languages
- Experience with agile software development
- Understanding of leading edge technologies and best practices such as Hadoop
- Understanding of mobile delivery architecture and best practices
Required soft skills
- Advanced written, verbal communication & presentation skills, with a knack for storytelling from data
- Strong customer orientation, positive and professional image and highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven leadership skills within the project team
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment and manage competing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects – prioritization, planning, task delegation and team coordination
Nice to have
- Expertise in Retail industry
- Experience with data science, statistical analysis, data mining and predictive algorithms
- Experience interacting with C-level executives
- Problem analysis and problem resolution skills at both a strategic and functional level
