Optimal HR Group on behalf of its client- a Greek international FMCG- is looking to recruit an International Product Manager with strong international focus, for its Athens offices, to undertake the responsibility of identifying new product opportunities and developing new products, conducting market research, generating product requirement, determining specifications and production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth. Determines customers’ needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding and more specifically in changing the company’s products from commodity to premium label product
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Work closely with production teams to deliver with quick time-to-market response time and optimal resources
  • Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
  • Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products
  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives
  • Obtains product market share by working with Commercial Director to develop product sales strategies
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests
  • Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Designs, develops and implements the relevant product’s annual marketing plan and controls the assigned marketing budget

Requirements

  • Education to a University degree is desirable
  • Written and spoken fluency in English is required. Knowledge of
  • Italian will be considered a plus
  • Proven past experience in an international setting
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in a production environment is a must
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle to minimize inventory risks
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to management
  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job
  • Project management skills – Ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
  • A result oriented executive with high level of integrity, business acumen and practices a strong sense of urgency
  • Comfortable working under pressure
  • Experience with Microsoft programs
